1<\/b>. If you got sick, would you\u00a0<\/b>have access to\u00a0<\/b>treatment?\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

You might be lucky enough to benefit from state-funded healthcare, in which case this may not be relevant, but for many expats\u00a0that\u2019s not the case. Even if you have\u00a0cover through your employer or government\u00a0you might choose a top up for treatment which falls outside their\u00a0remit. Health is one of those things that you don\u2019t appreciate until you no longer have it and healthcare costs are something you might not have thought too much about if you\u2019ve never had any serious health issues. Here\u2019s what you need to know: they can mount up unbelievably fast.\u00a0You wouldn\u2019t\u00a0want to be in\u00a0a\u00a0situation where\u00a0you\u00a0can\u2019t get the treatment\u00a0you\u00a0need because\u00a0you\u00a0can\u2019t afford it\u00a0\u2013\u00a0which is why health insurance is a priority to protect you and your family. 3. Are you putting away funds for your retirement?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Many expats are reluctant\u00a0to invest in a property to live in due to their transient lifestyles but even if you continue to rent, property can still be a great way to diversify your investments. It can potentially provide both income and capital growth. There are companies who\u00a0specialise\u00a0in this field and can take the hassle out of finding and managing a buy-to-let property.\u00a0This\u00a0is definitely something to discuss with your financial adviser\u00a0to see if it\u2019s a good fit within your holistic financial plan.<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0<\/strong>Have you got a will?\u00a0<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

So now you\u2019ve building wealth with a portfolio of assets which is growing in value, it\u2019s essential to ensure that you have a will\u00a0that clearly\u00a0states who should inherit those assets if you were to pass away.
